Mariela Dujovne Melamed

Architect/ Photographer

Graduated from University of Buenos Aires, School of Architecture in 1989. She has a Masters in Architecture and Urban planning.
StudiedPhotography at Westchester Art Workshop, and at ICP, The International Center of Photography.
She divides her time between Architecture and Photography.
She has practiced Architecture in the United States since 1990.
Works as a professional photographer since 1999.
Her work varies from very abstract to concrete themes. From commercial to fine arts photography.
She uses the camera outdoors as well as indoors in her lighting studio.
She photographs, develops and prints her own work and has a vast dark room experience that she applies to the new world of digital photography.
One of her recent photographic work celebrates the female form in different stages of life. Mostly sculptural, these black and white, high contrast pictures express the unedited beauty of women.
Her current exhibit at the Flywheel Gallery “Images around the world” at the Flywheel Gallery is a mixture of beautiful everyday urban elements with some social criticism “Lollipop in Jerusalem” “Priorities” and some abstract work like 'Deconstructing Gaudi- 1. 2 & 3'.
